3 best games that your loyal netbook can handle easily

Is it just me or are the laptops nowadays just not made to last? Take my old MSI Wind U100 netbook for example. It has fallen out of my bag and onto the pavement. I have spilled coffee on the keyboard more times than I’d like to confess. I have dropped it from a height of at least two to three feet many times. It has lost almost all its screws and the casing is completely busted. Yet somehow it’s still alive!

Indeed, the MSI Wind U100 is one resilient beast. While all my other laptops have eventually worn out and died over the years, this ancient netbook still works. While most of the time it’s only useful for simple tasks like browsing the web or writing articles, I still find myself occasionally playing certain old-school games for pc on it that have low minimum system requirements. Continue reading to find out three of the best games you can play on an old netbook.

Max Payne 1Max Payne 1

If you like action packed third person shooters then you will absolutely love Max Payne. The entire game is essentially a flashback where the player finds out what happened to the main protagonist, Max Payne. A former NYPD officer who comes home one night from a hard day’s work to find his wife and their newborn baby brutally murdered. He also learns that the killers were high on a new designer drug called Valkyr.

Max gets transferred to the DEA shortly after the funeral in hopes to find the killers responsible and maybe, just maybe put an end to the Valkyr craze which has escalated into a full blown epidemic throughout New York City.

Three years later, as luck would have it, he finally gets assigned as an undercover agent with a mission to infiltrate a notorious drug trafficking ring, the Punchinello family. Unfortunately the mission goes south and he finds himself wanted by the NYPD for killing his colleague. He must also run from the mafia because they now know his real identity.

Tomb Raider 1 Lara Croft Core Design

Tomb Raider 1

Wow. I still can’t believe that this epic third person action-adventure game is two decades old already!

In 1996 a British video game developer, Core Design, did what nobody had ever done before. They managed to gracefully combine beautiful scenery and landscapes with violence and gore typical to action games of the era.

On top of everything they stuffed the gun in the hands of a sexy female! With complex puzzles to solve and tombs of long forgotten kings to uncover, this game is unlike any other.

The plot revolves around a young woman, Lara Croft, who is on a mission to retrieve a mysterious and powerful artifact from the tomb of Qualopec somewhere within the mountains of Peru.

However shortly after she finds the artifact, she realizes that there are two more hidden away in different parts of the world. Additionally the rich businesswoman, Natla, who sent Lara on her quest seems to have her own hidden agenda.

GTA Vice City Tommy Wrecking CarGrand Theft Auto: Vice City

Released in 2002, Vice City is the 4’th edition in the GTA game series. For all the open world game fans out there, Vice City will probably stand out the most for many years to come.

The plot revolves around Tommy Vercetti who is a former member of the Forelli cartel. He arrives in Vice City to take care of a cocaine deal which unfortunately ends badly and he loses both the drugs and the money to unknown thugs.

Now he has to answer to Sonny Forelli, the head of the Forelli family, and recover the lost merchandise. On his quest for finding the cocaine Tommy makes contact with various criminals until he climbs high enough to find out who ambushed the deal.

As the game progresses, Tommy quickly becomes one of the most feared and respected men in Vice City. A fictional place that closely resembles Miami in the 80’s.

Haunted Motel is a VR Horror Game For Android (Google Cardboard)

Virtual reality horror games have quickly gained popularity among gamers after Google introduced their first VR headset prototype, the Google Cardboard, back in 2014. Now, for the past two years developers of vr horror games have been busy working on their projects and we can already enjoy some of the most insanely terrifying games like Silent Home, 11:57, House of Terror and Sisters, just to name a few.

These games, coupled with my overall fascination in virtual reality technology, have inspired me to start developing my own vr horror game for Android phones. The game is called Haunted Motel.

Haunted Motel – A work in progress

I don’t remember the exact date any more, but I think it’s safe to assume that I started developing Haunted Motel somewhere in the second half of May, 2016. I know this because, earlier that month, I had published a very basic how-to guide on virtual reality game development.

On a side note, I didn’t intend to give the game a lame name (wow) such as this. At first, I was considering a fancier name like the Lakeview Motel, but because it’s a demo, I figured Haunted Motel will work just fine for the time being.

That, and I was just too eager to publish it on the Play Store to bother with the tedious name picking process.

horror games vr virtual reality haunted motel screenshot

Why do I say the game is still a work in progress?

Because I don’t plan on ending the game any time soon! In fact I’m hoping to get enough feedback and NEW ideas from gamers themselves and implement those directly into the game as we move forward.

I think it would be epic if this project would turn out to be a kind of social vr horror game where anyone can add a piece of their imagination.

Of course I am going to add more content to the game on my own as well, but that requires time and being “in the zone” which is, unfortunately, kind of rare to happen these days. Come to think of it, adding other people’s ideas will require the same amount of work, if not more. Damn. Anyone willing to lend a helping hand?

At this point, I am still unsure where the game will “end up” as I am planning to, eventually, leave the building altogether and get the player on the streets. You know, Silent Hill style, but as a vr horror game.

Haunted Motel’s Storyline

As of right now the game doesn’t have a decent storyline. Instead it’s meant to kind of show off my skills as a game developer in general.

The only real story that I have added into the game so far is the note which you can find under the main staircase. In the note the motel’s administrator briefly welcomes a newly appointed janitor.

Short walkthrough

That said, the game starts after you’ve entered the motel building. To your right you can see the administrator’s office (locked) and to the left there’s a small storeroom with a bloody newspaper on top of some shelves.

As you move forward, you’ll eventually find yourself in the center of the building with stairs going to the 2nd floor (unfinished) and two narrow corridors leading both left and right.

virtual reality vr horror games android haunted motel cardboard headset

At the end of these corridors, on both sides, there’s a small room where people can hang out and smoke a cigarette, for example.

Each corridor leads to two additional apartments so on the 1st floor there are a total of 4 apartments. But since it’s a demo, you can currently only enter one of them.

It’s up to you, the player, to figure out how to enter that room. All I can say at this point is that you will first need to enter the administrator’s office where you’ll find (surprise surprise) a key. It’s not really that difficult.

The hauntings

In the demo the player has a chance of meeting a ghost. Well, sort of. While you can’t interact with it directly, it is supposed to scare you from afar. For those afraid of jump scares, you’re in luck because right now there aren’t any. Promise.

Haunted Motel vr horror game virtual reality cardboard android

While not directly hinted throughout the game itself, the ghost is in fact a burned man who died in a fire a few years earlier. The 2nd floor is still unfinished, but *spoiler alert* there will be a room completely burned down. This is where the guy used to live. Anyone care to tell his story?

Future plans

For the more observant bunch, I’ve added a few subtle clues on the noticeboard in the main hallway. These should give you an idea on what to expect from the vr horror game in the future. You will have to actually play the game though. I’m not going to reveal anything else.

And, as I said earlier, I am eventually hoping to be done with the motel building and put the player on the streets where they can wander around and enter other, more interesting houses.

Silent Hill 2: Who was Maria and what was her purpose in the game?

Silent Hill 2, despite being more than 15 years old, is arguably one of the best old school psychological horror games ever developed with a solid, well written and highly engaging storyline. I could go on for hours at a time trying to dissect every aspect of the game’s twisted plot and I’d still be merely scratching the surface!

Below is a spoiler filled article which mainly talks about Maria and her role in the game. Bare with me as I try my best to explain who she was and, more importantly, who she was to James, the main character of Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2: Introduction

Silent Hill 2 Director's Cut CD Cover For PC

The game begins with the main protagonist, James Sunderland, 29, arriving in a town called Silent Hill after receiving a letter from her wife who apparently has been dead for the past 3 years.

In the first scene we can see James talking to himself in front of a mirror in a run down public restroom. Naturally he is confused about the letter he got from his supposedly dead wife, but at the same time he’s hopeful that perhaps Mary (the name of James’s wife) is in fact alive thanks to some sort of a miracle. And so James begins his journey to find out exactly what happened.

Maria from Silent Hill 2Who is Maria?

Maria, a 25 year old former dancer at a club called Heaven’s Night, is the second most important antagonist in the game alongside James’s worst nightmare, the Pyramid Head (more on that later).

When James first meets Maria in a local park, he is stunned by how similar she looks to his late wife, Mary.

At this point it’s worth noting that the town (Silent Hill) draws upon the psyche of its visitors and ultimately creates alternate versions of itself for every character.

The fact becomes more clear later in the game when James meets a runaway teenager, Eddie, who experiences all of the same creatures that James sees as horrific monsters, as people laughing and taunting him towards violence.

Maria’s personality

While Maria is almost identical to Mary in every way (physically speaking), she has a much more sexually extroverted personality. She dresses in bold and revealing clothing and is found flirting with James throughout the game. She’s sensual, caring and more dependent than Mary.

Silent Hill 2 Maria Sensual Pose

In fact the game’s instruction manual describes her as being the complete opposite of Mary: a more fun, energetic and overall cheerful woman, albeit with a more clingy and intrusive personality which eventually leads James to reject her later in the game, at which point she tries to kill him by transforming into the final “boss” monster.

But… is she even real?

When you consider all of these personality traits in Maria and the fact that occasionally she seems to possess Mary’s memories of James and her being together, it becomes apparent that she is in fact a manifestation of Jame’s lonely subconscious mind that is desperately looking to fill the void left behind after his wife passed away.

In many ways Maria seems to be a “better” version of Mary, at least from a guy’s perspective, as she is much more easy-going to downright slutty, for lack of a better word.

Furthermore, we never actually see her around when James interacts with other people who are also lost in Silent Hill and coupled by the fact that she is desperately trying to remind James how “real” she is, all confirm the theory that Maria doesn’t exist in the first place.

For example when James first meets Maria in Rosewater Park, she says: “I don’t look like a ghost, do I? See, feel how warm I am”.

And then later, after being killed in front of James and then miraculously resurrected, she tells James that “It doesn’t matter who I am. I’m here for you, James. See? I’m real.”

She also happens to know James’s name almost immediately after meeting him for the first time even though he never told her his name. Of course James, being completely engulfed in his own delusion, doesn’t seem to notice it.

Not your typical “monster”

Silent Hill 2 Maria Smiling EerilyMaria, even though considered to be one of the two main antagonists in the game, is not necessarily malicious towards James (except for the part where she tries to kill him in the end), but she is definitely trying to keep James from leaving Silent Hill.

For example, in the Rebirth ending (yes, the game has multiple outcomes depending on your actions throughout the game) Maria says to James:

What?! But I’m what you wanted! Mary’s dead. Don’t you understand? She’s not coming back! But I can be yours… I’ll be here for you forever… I’ll never hurt you like she did! So why don’t you want me?!

Is she trying to keep James from learning the truth?

In the beginning of “Born from a Wish”, a prequel to Silent Hill 2, she mentions that she’s scared of being left alone and afraid of being in pain and in the main game seems to be highly bothered by the fact that James is more interested in finding out what happened to her wife instead of protecting and taking care of her.

At one point she lashes out to James and accuses him of being rude and selfish for only caring about his dead wife and not her by saying:

Why didn’t you try to save me? All you care about is that DEAD WIFE of yours!

Maria’s purpose in the game

Before we can start to understand the purpose of Maria in the game we have to dig a little deeper and figure out exactly what’s going on with James because, believe me when I say, It’s not all what it looks like!

James’s guilt

As James ventures deeper and deeper into the “rabbit hole” he eventually comes to terms with the fact that he was directly responsible of Mary’s death by suffocating her using a pillow some time after the doctors said there was nothing they could do to cure her illness.

Pyramid Head Abusing and Raping Two Helpless MannequinsSo he’s a hero then? No. James didn’t do it out of compassion. Instead he killed his wife mainly due to sexual frustration. There are subtle hints about this throughout the game, for example the infamous scene where Pyramid Head is seen abusing two mannequins.

Another reason for killing his wife was, of course, the sickness itself as it gradually changed Mary’s personality. In the end she was having constant mood swings and she would lash out at James in bursts of anger for no reason.

As Mary’s illness progressed, James started to resent her in almost every way, yet he still felt love towards her which in turn lead him on a downward spiral of self destruction and self pity. It took James 3 years to finally snap and end Mary’s life.

James’s delusion

After losing his wife, James’s life took a turn from bad to worse as he was now in complete denial of having killed Mary and so he created a story in his mind that she had been dead for 3 years because of her illness.

It’s very likely that the letter he received, which led him to Silent Hill in the first place, was just a hallucination and because of his numerous irrational and reckless actions throughout the game, it’s safe to assume that James was, in fact, suicidal and went to Silent Hill to kill himself.

Maria’s purpose becomes more clear

When you consider all of the above, it would make sense that Maria, being a figment of Jame’s imagination, was there mainly to provide comfort.

I guess, deep inside, James knew that he had killed his wife, but because what he did was so awful, he chose to ignore it and instead created Maria in the image of Mary so he could be together with her, oblivious to reality.

Silent Hill 2 – True [Remix by Ynef]

Almost a year after I published this post I decided to make a remix out of one of my favorite Silent Hill 2 music tracks, “True”. You can listen to it below and hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as me.

Animal Keeper (animal clicker) Game Review and Getting Started Guide

An incremental game is a type of video game in which you are required to click or tap on the screen in order to acquire in-game currency. You can use that currency to upgrade various aspects of your game (usually the environment, tools used for clicking, etc) which in turn help you gain even more currency for every single click or tap that you perform.

While there usually isn’t a lot of action in these kinds of games other than having to furiously click or tap on the screen for long periods of time, they can still prove to be quite fun and have the ability to reduce stress mainly because of the short and simple repeating input from the user that doesn’t require a lot of brain power.

Animal Keeper

Ynef is killing it in Animal Keeper Clicker game Take the Animal Keeper, for example. It’s a free game available on Play Store and a great example of what an incremental game, or in this case, animal clicker, is like.

Introduction

In the game you are in charge of managing a farm and in the beginning you only have one chicken on your farmland. This, however, will soon change as you start to unlock more and more animals including cats, dogs, turtles and even dinosaurs! Very soon your entire land will be populated with a horde of animals who you now need to feed and protect from the evil huntsman.

Gameplay

As with any other clicker game, the gameplay itself is very straightforward as you are only required to do a lot of tapping and clicking on the screen.

You can tap anywhere on the screen to earn game currency which can be used to unlock new animals, upgrade existing animals or build houses which will provide protection and food for your livestock.

Getting ahead in this zoo game

The first thing you probably want to do is buy an extra chicken or two so click on the “animals” button located at the lower left part of the screen.

If you happen to have more money, you should definitely invest in more expensive animals as the more you have, the more in-game currency you will earn without having to click that much (also called an idle clicker game).

Protecting your livestock

By now you have most likely already seen the evil huntsman who occasionally wanders around the area. You should really get rid of him as soon as possible because otherwise he will start shooting your animals.

If you have enough, you should definitely consider investing in a guard’s house because when it finishes building, the next time that wicked huntsman comes back to shoot the chickens, your guard house will help get rid of him easily. You can of course upgrade the guard house so it will make even more damage.

Don’t forget to exchange your animals

Building the animal exchange will be very beneficial from the start because you can then exchange your basic animals into more fancy and expensive ones who are faster, have more health points and in the end generate more revenue for you.

Final words

There are hundreds of similar clicker games available on Steam, Apple Store, Play Store, etc. with game themes ranging from erotica to being a youtube star and even mining cryptocurrencies for riches, but this game is the first one I’ve seen that involves managing a farm in a sort of “zoo game” kind of setting.

It’s fun, it’s addictive and it definitely helps to get your mind off of things for a minute or two.

Doblons.io review and a quick start guide for winning the game

Doblons.io is a fun new .io browser based game inspired by my favorite tank game, Diep.io, and a pirate ships game called Pirac.io. The game can also be considered a more sophisticated and digital version of the classic battleships game that you play with your friend and have to guess where their ships are located on a piece of paper. This article is going to be a quick overview on how to play the Doblonsio game and I’ll also share with you my personal strategy which always helps me climb the scoreboard quickly.

Ynef is winning the game again

Getting started

You start out as a puny and vulnerable battleship equipped with just two small side cannons which cannot fire all that far. Your first priority should be to collect the various gold, silver and bronze coins scattered around the sea as these will be used increase your wealth in order to upgrade your cannons and other features of the ship later on.

About the upgrades

Upgrades such as hull strength, auto repairs, cannon range and reload speed should all be familiar to most of us from the tank game Diep.io. These are the abilities that help your ship become stronger, repair itself, shoot cannonballs farther away and fire them at a much faster rate.

However there are a couple of quite interesting additional upgrades available in Doblons.io that you can’t find in other similar games. For example the fishing boat upgrade allows you to spawn a small fishing boat on the map which will then sail off, but not too far away, and will start to collect money for you.

The Battleship and Man of War upgrades help you by spawning an additional battle ship near you that will attack enemy vessels and protect you from them. The Battleship upgrade is a weaker version of Man of War and they cost 500 and 1000 coins to summon, respectively.

The strategy

My strategy usually relies on upgrading to better weapons as soon as possible and once I’m happy with the firepower (3 cannons on both sides), I start to concentrate more on maneuverability like turn speed and movement speed. I’d say turn speed is more important because most of your cannons are going to be on the sides anyway and with a high enough turn speed you can easily turn your battleship around and aim your weapons directly at the enemy.

By now I have almost always spawned a fishing boat to help me collect the coins. It really does make a difference! After that I start to work on my hull strength and of course the auto repairs which is incredibly useful in case you have just barely escaped from a battle with a much stronger enemy and need a moment to recover.

Final words

I personally found the movement a little annoying and had to spend quite a lot of time just to figure out exactly how the ship responded to the way I moved my mouse. It didn’t make sense to me for some reason and I’m usually pretty good at these types of games. Other than that it’s a great game with a lot of potential, but I still believe Diep.io to be the best .io game that’s currently out there.

Dragon Ninja Rush – A 2D Endless Running Game Review and How To Play Guide

If you enjoy playing 2D endless running games on your phone then you will most definitely get a kick out of this brand new infinite run game called the Dragon Ninja Rush.

Since I was asked to do a quick review on the game I have been playing it casually for a couple of days now just to get the hang of it and in this article I will be going over some of the basic aspects of the game’s user interface as well as gameplay in general along with a brief how to play guide.

Dragon Ninja Rush 2D Endless Runner Review And How To Play Guide

Introduction

The main menu is designed neatly and you should be able to figure it out rather quickly. On the left you can see all of the achievements you can unlock by playing the game and on the right you’ll find options to upgrade your character so that boosts like potions, shields, magnets and rockets last a little longer when used. You can additionally purchase mounts and pets which will help you gain twice the amount of coins that you normally get in the game world.

Dragon Ninja Rush Main Menu

How to play Dragon Ninja Rush

To start playing this endless ninja running game simply press the “GO” button located at the bottom right corner of the screen. I have to warn you though, it might be a little overwhelming at first because your character will start running immediately after the loading screen has done its thing.

In the game there are various obstacles you must overcome by either sliding under or jumping over. You should also concentrate on collecting as many of the coins as possible because these can be used to purchase various pets, mounts and upgrades for your ninja later on.

It might take a couple of tries, but you should soon realize just how intuitive and simple the controls really are. There are only two buttons to control your character:

The left button is for sliding under obstacles while the right one is used to jump. You can also perform a double jump while your ninja is still in the air by pressing the jump button again, but it will only work once every time you leave the ground so you better use it wisely!

You can pause the game in case of an emergency by tapping the pause button located in the top right corner of the screen and when you’re ready to play again later, simply tap the “continue” button.

Dragon Ninja Rush How To Play

Challenging obstacles

While most of the obstacles can be easily avoided, I found the brick walls that you’re supposed to slide under extremely frustrating because you have to time your slide just right in order to pass under the wall and continue running. Oftentimes I pressed the slide button either too late or too early which resulted in my character getting stuck between the screen and the wall.

Another super annoying obstacle is the flying spear-like thing and even though you get a heads up warning moments before the spear actually flies towards you, I still kept running straight into it most of the time!

Occasionally those spears will fly at you, three at a time, so there’s really nowhere for you to run (no pun intended) and I believe the only feasible way to get through this combo is to use a potion or a shield or jump on a rocket and simply fly over all of them in one go which brings us to the next chapter: the boosts.

Boosts

Every now and again you can find various boosts in the game that help you in one way or another. Here’s a list of boosts I have been able to uncover:

  • Potions will turn your face red from fury and make you grow bigger in size like Alice in wonderland. As long as the potion is active you can run through all of the obstacles as if they weren’t even there. You’re pretty much invincible at this stage.
  • Shields will render a protective bubble around your character, but it will only protect you from one collision with an obstacle before disappearing. It’s still pretty useful in situations where there’s just too much going on.
  • Rockets will make you fly really fast while avoiding all of the obstacles and collecting coins at the same time. You can cover a lot of ground flying on a rocket and you can make it last longer by spending your coins on upgrades.
  • Magnets will draw all of the surrounding coins towards you so you can concentrate only on avoiding the obstacles and not waste time trying to figure out the best possible route to take in order to gather as many coins as possible.

Dragon Ninja Rush How To Play Boosts

Achievements system

There are a ton of achievements to unlock ranging from running a certain distance to dying 50 times or having a total coins stack of 20k etc. I have only been playing this game for a few days but I have already managed to unlock the Amateur, Novice, Average, Skilled and Professional Ninja achievements which means that I’ve reached at least a distance of 1,500 meters which is a pretty good result considering that I’m not very good at these endless runner type games in the first place.

What’s more, this ninja warrior game comes integrated with the Google Play Services which make it real easy to compete against your friends by unlocking all of the achievements and getting the highest score among your friends just so you could brag to them all day long how they suck at Dragon Ninja Rush.

The pros and cons of Dragon Ninja Rush

Overall It’s a very good game so I had somewhat of a hard time trying to come up with what to write in the “cons” section. Below you’ll find the pros and cons of this endless runner based on my personal taste and opinion so you should definitely take it with a grain of salt:

Pros

You gotta love the graphics and animations this endless run game has to offer. When you first launch the game, it’s immediately apparent that the developers have put some serious work into making this game a reality so it’s only fair that they have 100% positive feedback from fellow Play Store gamers.

The background music is amazing! It sounded to me like a mixture of old eastern ninja tunes and drum and bass. And while I only heard two tracks play throughout the game, I enjoyed the music enough to not mute the sound effects like I usually do with other mobile games.

This ninja warrior game is well optimized for both mobile phones and tablets and even though my Samsung Galaxy S2 is more than 5 years old, I was still able to enjoy a very smooth gameplay. Heck, even the advertisements that show up when you die seemed to be optimized because I can usually feel at least a little bit of lag waiting for the ads to load in other similar running games.

Cons

While the home screen and menus are neatly designed and make perfect sense, the game itself started off a little too fast in my opinion. The player starts running immediately after the initial loading screen which could have been used to introduce the controls to the player, for example.

Sure, there are only two buttons to move your character and one would think it’s simple enough, yet for a moment I was a little lost and ended up dying against the first obstacle because I wasn’t fast enough to figure out which button to press.

Here’s a thought: why not use the same 3,2,1 countdown timer that was used to resume playing after you pause the game at the beginning of each level? Doing so would give the player a brief moment to understand what’s about to happen. It’s especially important for first timers who haven’t a clue what to expect!

Splix.io overview and quick how to play guide

There seems to be a new trend in browser based games where a developer takes one old and long forgotten game and turns it into something completely different with the help of modern day technology like HTML5 canvas and socket.io. If you have no idea what I just said then the perfect examples of such games are Agar.io, Slither.io, Diep.io and now jespertheend from Reddit has launched yet another similar game called Splix.io which is inspired by a perhaps not so well known ancient computer game, Xonix. If you are unable to access the game from your current location directly, you should try splixio unblocked– a free web service dedicated to letting you play the game hassle free.

Splix io Gameplay Screenshot

The objective in Splix.io

Unlike in other similar browser based .io games where the objective is to simply grow bigger in size and destroy all of your enemies, the goal of Splix.io is to claim as much of the land as your own as possible.

In order to claim new territory you must venture out from your initial safe zone and try to surround as many blocks as possible with the trail that you leave behind while moving forward using the arrow or WASD keys. Basically what you’re doing is you’re “cutting out” pieces of the unclaimed land and converting them into your colors. Congratulations, you have just expanded your territory!

Hint: You can also cut out the land or territory of other players and claim it as your own.

Playing Splix.io

You start out with an area of 25 blocks which is your safe zone. You won’t leave a trail behind here so nobody can really hurt you unless you move outwards. But since the goal of the game is to claim more blocks (land) as your own, you have to start expanding eventually.

No matter what you do, you must never allow another player to cut through your trail. You will die! You will also die if you happen to cut through your own trail which makes this part of the game very classic “Snake” like. That’s why it’s important to be patient and grow your territory gradually by taking up small pieces of land at a time because if you get greedy and want to claim too much of the land in one go, you will most likely get killed by other players who cut through your trail.

How to survive with minimal risk

First of all you should try to claim small pieces of land by surrounding smaller areas near your base, then quickly return to your base and repeat the process. By doing this you’ll eventually control a big territory with minimal risk involved. You can try gobbling up bigger pieces occasionally when there’s nobody else around and if you’re extra crazy, you can try to kill other players by cutting through their trails.

Additional notes

It’s a relatively new game so you should expect bugs, some lag and the occasional “unable to connect” error. It can be a pain, but I’m sure the developers are well aware of these issues especially because a lot of people mention these things already in this Reddit thread.

Just like with other .IO games, Splix is also offering additional features when you share the game to your friends via Facebook or Twitter, but so far the unlockables are limited to a few extra colors and a couple of fancier patterns to your territorial blocks.

In my opinion this game has great potential and hopefully there will be new and interesting features available soon enough. A++, Jesper The End!

Bored of Slither.io? Here are a couple of fun challenges for You

I’m sure that by now almost everyone has heard about the infamous Slitherio, a highly addictive browser based massively multiplayer online snake game inspired by Agar.io and developed by a man named Steve Howse. The game gained popularity after its release very quickly mostly because of its unique “snake” approach. Show me a person who wouldn’t want to play the original snake game found on old Nokia mobile phones in multiplayer mode!

Ynef is playing Slitherio

Slitherio challenges

Despite of its popularity among gamers the gameplay is rather dull when you compare it to other, more complex multiplayer games and as such it’s very likely that sooner or later you’ll simply grow tired of it. It’s not that I’m trying to lure you guys back into playing the game or anything but I just found a couple of interesting challenges on the internet that can make Slitherio enjoyable once more.

Boost only challenge

A Youtube gamer called Jelly has recently announced the boost only challenge and in order to participate all you have to do is kill the most players and overall survive the longest all while moving around the arena using the turbo boost feature at all times. If you run out of power and are unable to use boost any more, you have failed. If you die, you have obviously failed.

In case you didn’t know, you can turbo boost by either pressing the space key or clicking and holding down the left mouse button and since boosting requires “fuel” in the form of cute little glowing balls, you have to eat pretty much all the time. To be honest it’s actually a rather fun and addictive challenge, but I haven’t cashed in a single kill yet because my Slitherio strategy usually relies on moving around slowly. Or maybe I’m just not that good…

So, How many players can you kill in boost only mode?

Blindfolded challenge

Another, even more insane challenge is called the blindfolded challenge or Blind Challenge for short and the goal of this challenge is, you guessed it, to survive the longest while being completely blindfolded. You are not allowed to peek. Not once.

I just tried the blind challenge, but because I was alone and had no-one around to let me know when I had died, I decided to cover up my laptop screen with a piece of cardboard leaving only a small corner visible. This way I couldn’t see the game at all, but I was still able to figure out the moment of death because when you die, you stop moving. Brilliant!

To my surprise I survived for a good 2,5 minutes, but my final length was only a measly 10 points. I guess I must have been running around avoiding almost all of the food. Mannor from Youtube on the other hand did the same challenge and got a whopping final length of 19. It’s crazy!

Feedy.io How to play guide and winning strategies

Think no-one would be mad enough to create yet another Agar.io clone? Think again! Someone has just launched a new cell eating game called Feedy.io and I have to say, it’s pretty damn impressive. With new and unique features like friends lists, special attacks, different game modes and a lot more, Feedyio is gaining popularity among browser based game fans around the world. But how do you play the game and what’s the best Feedy strategy? Keep on reading to find out!

Feedy IO Ynef Winning The Game Like A Boss

Feedy.io introduction

If it’s your first time playing the game, I advise you to register a free account because you will have access to two of the most important functions in the game: Add mass and Bomb. You can still play the game as an anonymous user, but you will soon realize just how important these two features are if you are planning on staying on top of the scoreboard. As a sign up bonus you’ll get 200 free gold coins and I will explain what they’re used for in just a minute.

The goal of the game itself is very simple! It’s just like in Agar.io- you grow bigger by eating smaller cells and you survive by avoiding cells that are bigger than you. Additionally the game has “rounds” that last for 30 minutes and if you manage to stay on the high scores list after each round ends, you’ll earn gold coins as a reward.

What are gold coins used for?

Gold coins in Feedy.io are used to carry out the two special moves which allow you to turn the odds in your favor very quickly. The cost of using a special move is 2 gold coins and both of them have a cooldown time of about 3 seconds. This means that you can’t cast a special move right after another and therefore careful planning and timing is the key to winning the game.

What are the special moves?

There are two main special moves you can use in the game after you have registered for a free account and received your first 200 gold coins. You can either grow yourself bigger on demand or throw a bomb at your enemy and split them in half.

Add mass (Press “A” on your keyboard)

The add mass feature allows you to grow bigger in size and is best used in situations where a slightly bigger enemy is just about to eat you. Wait for the right moment and allow your unsuspecting enemy to come towards you, then press A on your keyboard to grow bigger and eat them instead.

Bomb (Press “D” on your keyboard)

You can also throw bombs at your enemy which will split them in half. It’s advised to use this move when you’re either cornered and have no place to go or when you simply want to destroy an enemy much bigger than you. Just press D on your keyboard while directing your aim towards the enemy cell using your mouse and watch them split in half, then enjoy gobbling up the pieces.

Watch out for virus cells

The virus cells are noticeably bigger than the average cells meant for eating and have distinct toothed edges. If you happen to crash into one, you’ll be split into multiple smaller cells and will be vulnerable against an attack!

On the other hand, if you’re completely surrounded by your enemies, you might want to crash into a virus cell deliberately in order to escape because when you’re smaller, you’ll also move faster. Your enemy might swallow some of your bigger pieces, but even if just one of your tiny cell manages to escape, you’re good.

Tricking your enemies

A good strategy of mine is to trick the bigger enemy into eating a virus cell. Sometimes they’re just too eager to kill you and won’t notice the virus cell right in front of them. Since you’re smaller, you have better maneuverability and can easily move around the virus. It’s a good idea to use the Add mass special move right after your opponent has eaten the virus and split in half because you’ll eat all of the remaining pieces in one swift move.

Clearing the way with smaller cells

Another great trick, especially if you are grown so massive that it’s getting hard to avoid virus cells, is to split in half using the space key and drive the smaller cells straight into the them. This way you’ll clear the road for your big “mother” cell.

List of three most intense Ben 10 Games and their reviews

If you were born in the late 1990’s or early 2000’s then the name Ben Tennyson should definitely ring a bell. Ben is the main character in one of Cartoon Network’s most popular franchise, the Ben 10. It has won a total of three Emmy Awards and raked in over $4.5 billion in retail sales worldwide. The story itself revolves around a young boy with a watch-like device that allows him to transform into 10 different alien creatures in order to fight the bad guys.

Ben 10 Games For All

Just like every other highly succesful franchise, the Ben 10 has also inspired numerous spin-off movies, tv series, toys, fan art and various video games that all revolve around our young hero Ben Tennyson. In this article I will be reviewing some of the top Ben 10 games from ben10gamesforall.com

Aliens Kill-Zone

Alien kill zone Ben 10 video gameAliens Kill-Zone is a classic 2D platformer where your mission is to infiltrate the enemy base and stop them from carrying out their evil plans. You’re equipped with an energy weapon that shoots out green bursts of energy and to my surprise it was actually very effective against the bad guys. Just a couple of shots were all that was really needed to take out an enemy wearing heavy looking body armor.

In order to beat the level you have to kill all of the enemies present in that level, otherwise the door which lets you leave will simply stay shut. Fortunately you can open the level’s map by pressing the “M” key on your keyboard which will show you the layout of the level and the location of all of your enemies.

It’s a cool game, but I was a little disappointed by the enemies A.I system. I mean come on, they don’t even turn around when you’re right behind them and simply continue walking their predetermined paths.

Car Drifting

Ben 10 Car Drifting GameBen 10’s Car Drifting is, as the name suggests, a racing game with an emphasis on drifting because you are required to use your drifting skills in order to complete the levels. It’s a top-down oriented car game sort of like GTA 1 and 2. Bonus points to you if you played those games as you were growing up!

While Ben 10’s Car Drifting might look really simple and easy, you’ll realize soon enough that looks can be quite deceiving. I was having some serious trouble completing even the first race successfully because you have to 1) hit at least 80 cones, 2) drift for at least 50 meters and 3) your race time has to be under 1 and a half minutes. All of those requirements combined make this game difficult even for experienced players.

Overall I love it how the game, which seemed so easy at first, turned out to be one of today’s greatest challenges for me. I just spent an hour and a half playing the game without even realizing it and my tongue is still sore from rubbing it against my teeth (I do this when things get too intense). On top of everything there are a ton of additional vehicles and racing tracks to unlock, only if you’re good enough.

Coloring Game

A coloring game, really? Yep! Not a lot of action in this one, but believe me when I say it’s worth checking out. It’s almost like a psychedelic experience.

If the weird looking alien creatures that you get to paint in cute neon colors isn’t enough then just listen to the music. It’s only a few seconds of some pretty strange stuff, but it’s set on a infinite loop and that’s what makes it so wonderful. Just be careful not to lose your mind completely.
