Ynef’s take on the current price of Bitcoin and Bitcoin price prediction

Bitcoin price in the year 2014

Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency right now and it will remain the most popular and most traded cryptocurrency for at least a few more years or until someone comes up with a better alternative.

Picture of a bitcoinThe price of Bitcoin has been quite volatile throughout the year 2014. It has touched the $1000 mark and dropped back to $300. In December 2013 we witnessed Bitcoin find resistance in the $1200 USD mark – the highest price for Bitcoin yet. This was mainly due to extreme media coverage that Bitcoin received in the second half of 2013. Literally every news agency in the world published controversial articles about Bitcoin back then and investors went crazy about it. I can’t be a hundred percent sure, but I believe that this was done intentionally to manipulate the price. In theory it shouldn’t be that difficult in the Internet era.

When I look at the Bitcoin price I always consider the possibility that there are still price manipulators out there who control the market thus making it incredibly risky to invest in Bitcoin long term. Basically any one person or organization that holds more than half of the Bitcoins at any given time can easily manipulate the price by for example dumping most of their coins all over the market in a short period of time. Who owns the biggest Bitcoin wallet you may ask? The FBI does ;)

Technical analysis

When you look at the charts you’ll notice that since June 2014 there has been massive selling of Bitcoin about twice a month resulting in an overall price drop, followed by a weak bullish run and an even greater selling frenzy shortly after that. This has been going on for the last couple of months now and has brought the price down to just $300 USD per coin. For now we have found support around this area, but how long will it hold? 300 is a nice round number and a great psychological support level, but we have already tested $280 once!

I predict that a small bullish run to $400, maybe $450 is likely to happen in the coming weeks followed by another drop to $300. Looking at the overall trend it’s obvious the price should penetrate this support level, but I wouldn’t be surprised when in about a month Bitcoin will receive more media coverage and everyone would be saying that it’s the perfect time to buy more coins due to the relatively cheap price compared to what it was 6 months ago. This of course could skyrocket the price back to at least $600 area where it was in the beginning of summer 2014. That being said, my current setup is literally screaming BUY now.

Media marionettes picture

Media influence

I’ve always known media was a powerful weapon, but I never realized how powerful it really was. To prove my theory of how media influences people to buy or sell their coins I decided to check my local news portal for clues. First I looked at the 6 month price graph for Bitcoin and then I searched for news articles about Bitcoin that were published in the past 6 months. And guess what? I found that every time media says something big about Bitcoin the prices will fluctuate a lot! Whenever there’s news that some big corporation started accepting Bitcoin you should be prepared for a rally. Remember when FBI put a lot of coins on auction? The prices came down like autumn rain. Of course this was expected because there were actual coins being dumped on the market, but when a corporation like Dell starts accepting Bitcoin out of the blue the price rally can only be temporary because there are no actual coins involved.

[DIY] – How to cure stress and mild depression in just 30 days

Stress reduction exercise – how to deal with stress

NB! Once you start actively doing this, some people, especially your loved ones, can easily misinterpret this activity as obsessive compulsive disorder. Kindly refer them to this article to explain what it is that you are doing!

Requirements:

1 pencil

30 sheets of paper

Optional:

Blue, yellow and red colored pencils

The method

The method is actually pretty straightforward. Starting from today, take one of your sheets of paper and draw a circle in the middle of the paper. When you have done that it’s time to fully color the inside of your circle. The trick is to try and draw a perfect circle by hand without using any special tools whatsoever. The more time you spend drawing and perfecting your circle, the better the end result! Use a new sheet of paper every day.

How to cure stress and stress reduction tricks

What is this nonsense?

A circle is an object that represents fullness and completion. When you are drawing a circle you are effectively reprogramming your brain into thinking about this which in turn makes you feel fulfilled and complete. In order to REALLY max out the effect, it’s important to fill the inside of your circle otherwise you might start feeling emptiness in a very short time.

It takes about 5-10 days to “kick in”. You will not notice the change at first and in the beginning it will most likely feel very tedious and stupid drawing circles every day. Don’t give up! It’s perfectly normal to feel this way because over the years we have built ourselves certain behavior patterns that society considers to be the norm and our brain is trying to weed out everything odd and peculiar. In reality when you really think about it, drawing circles every day doesn’t necessarily make you insane so there is no need to feel this way. Your brain just tries to tell you this in order to fit into the common social mechanism. It’s kind of like self preservation really.

Tips

It’s best to draw a circle with a diameter of at least 2 cm, the bigger the better. If your circle is too small your brain doesn’t have enough time to really get into the “mood” and it will dismiss it as something unimportant.

It’s better if you do this in the morning as you’re eating breakfast or drinking your coffee. This way your whole day will feel a little bit better. By the way, try to not drink more than one cup of coffee every day.

If you happen to have blue, red and yellow colors then you can even change the way your entire day will unfold! Simply paint the circle blue if you want to have a relaxing and calm day. Red if you need to be successful in something (job interview, exam etc.) or yellow if you need to stay friendly (going out with friends).

Don’t stop after 30 days! While one month should be enough for the average person, it can sometimes take a little bit longer. We are all different after all. And even if you are feeling like a whole new person after a month, you still don’t have to stop. When you continue doing this, you will make sure these effects are not fading away over time. You will start feeling so good that you can’t help but tell others about this too!

A good idea is to go jogging or simply take a walk outside for at least 15 minutes after you have drawn your circle for the day- this is what’s actually important in all this, lol :P

The king of all zombie games is undoubtedly No More Room In Hell

No More Room In Hell

No More Room In Hell or simply NMRIH is an awesome zombie game where you and up to eight other players per server can experience first hand the horrors of a true zombie apocalypse. Do you have what it takes to survive and escape the nightmare of the walking dead?

Horde of zombies attacking the player in no more room in hell game ynef.net

Best of multiplayer zombie games

There’s really a big empty hole in the gaming industry when it comes to zombie games in general. Especially the ones with multiplayer capabilities. Don’t get me wrong, the Resident Evil series is a legend, but I think they kind of ruined the whole feel for the game after they dropped the adventure part of the game and turned it into a mindless first person shooter.

I don’t normally enjoy FPS games and No More Room In Hell does fall into that category, but because it has zombies and an awesome real life feel to it, not to mention the great teamwork possibilities that you would find in a realistic zombie apocalypse situation, it all adds up to a wonderful game.

Game modes

When the game starts you find yourself surrounded by up to eight other people per server. The goal is different in each server and it varies by the type of server you have joined. For example there are survival type servers and wave type servers.

In a survival type server there is a mission that needs to be completed and whoever survives through the whole thing will be rescued in the end. There is a possibility to get left behind if you’re not fast enough!

In a wave type server a horde of zombies called a “wave” starts attacking the area you are located in and your goal is to stop them from taking over your position. The waves get harder every time and ammunition is usually very limited so one must prioritize which type of weapons to use first and which ones to save for later.

It’s all about teamwork

It is possible to beat the survival type game without any help, but it is going to be extremely difficult. Most of the time, even with eight players who have decent skills, all die before they are able to escape or complete the mission.

What makes this game difficult to beat is the fact that there are literally an endless horde of zombies attacking the players at all times. Even though most of them are quite slow, they can easily surround you if you don’t plan your route carefully enough. This is where teamwork comes into play. It’s pretty much vital to have a few friends who keep the zombies away from you while you are trying to weld open a gate in order to escape for example. You just can’t do it alone!

Getting bitten even once could mean that you will die should you get infected. It doesn’t happen all the time when a zombie just scratches you, but odds are not in your favor. Fortunately there is a cure in the game… but of course it’s very rare and you probably won’t find it. So the best advice I can give you is don’t let them get too close.

In case you are infected other players might choose to shoot you on sight to prevent you from attacking them later on when you die and turn into one of the walking corpses yourself.

Zombie attacking the player in no more room in hell game zombie ynef.net

Zombie game like no other

It’s realistic. A bite or two and you are dead. An explosion too close to you and you are blinded for a few seconds with a ringing in your ears. Other people can shoot you just because… and the list goes on. If you’re brave enough to try and survive then you’re welcome to do it with me! Simply add me as a friend on Steam and let me know when you want to go for a little zombie killing rampage ;)

Runescape is the worlds most popular browser based MMORPG

What is Runescape?

Runescape is a browser based MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). It’s so popular that even the Guinness World Records recognizes it as the biggest, most updated and free MMORPG in the world. Unlike traditional games there is no need to download and install it in order to play. All you need is an internet connection, a modern web browser and a free account (your Runescape avatar).

Runescape is most popular mmorpgThe virtual journey of a lifetime

When you first enter the world of Runescape you have to go through a tutorial like in most games. It explains a lot how the game works and what your role in the game will be.

All the action takes place in a fictional medieval fantasy realm called Gielinor which is divided into different kingdoms, cities and regions. There is no main storyline for the game, instead every member can set their own personal goals and roam Gielinor freely. Of course there are certain areas that are only accessible after completing a quest.

The map is very huge with a lot of beautiful places ready to explore from the start. You can visit small towns and go shopping or spend your afternoon drinking beer at a local tavern. Or perhaps you prefer to spy on unicorns?

Mysteries to uncover

You would think that once a game has been created then everything is set in place for good, but in Runescape there are many mysteries left unsolved and new ones are piling up all the time. Not even the makers of the game know exactly what will be discovered a year from now!

Fortunately for us the Varrock museum with their savvy archeologist are constantly working on the important stuff like uncovering more and more about the ancient race called the Dragonkin. So far we know that they were an intelligent race that existed in the previous cycle of the Universe and a few have survived the big reset by hiding in the Abyss. What could they be plotting now?

The digsite in Varrock

The fate of Gielinor lies in your hands

The Runescape staff has just recently implemented a system that lets members vote on how the game should continue. For example when a new quest is in the making, a game-wide poll will be available for every member where they can give their individual vote on what they want to happen. This makes Runescape a game where all the major events are literally influenced by the players themselves.

The Sixth Age

The Sixth Age (present day) started when a god named Guthix was killed. The death of Guthix had a great impact on Gielinor because the Edicts of Guthix were no longer in effect. The Edicts of Guthix banished all the gods from Gielinor in order to protect it from any further destruction. Because of that we have already been visited by four different gods who want the power of Guthix that is now spread across the world. There are many battles ahead but one thing is certain- we cannot allow anyone to have such infinite power. The only thing we can do is pick a side when the gods come and hope for the best… or not pick a side at all and hope they simply destroy each other without doing irreversible damage to Gielinor.

Flipping items on the Grand Exchange – A short how to tutorial

Flipping items is not rocket science

Despite what a lot of players think, flipping items is actually pretty simple and straightforward. The idea is to generate a profit by buying items below the average market price and after a while selling these items above the average market price (the buy low, sell high principle that works with any business).

Best items for flipping in the Grand Exchange

Runescape character thinking about flipping items on the Grand ExchangeBefore getting started you should understand that you can’t flip everything. Certain items are simply losing their value all the time, thus making them literally a black hole for your gold coins.

Then there are items that simply won’t sell only at certain times. The Santa Hat, for example, doesn’t sell in the middle of July etc.

Finding profitable items for flipping in GE

The easiest way to find a profitable item is to look for items that are in great demand such as things that are directly linked to skilling. For example herbs, seeds, ores, etc. are all required and in great demand because players are always trying to level up their skills using these items.

After you have chosen your item, it’s time to take a look at the price graph to make sure your items overall price trend is upwards, not downwards. You don’t want to end up with stuff that are clearly losing their value. To do that we simply enter our item name + grand exchange into Google search, for example “iron bar grand exchange”.

Iron bar showing uptrend in the price graphNow that the graph is displayed we can clearly see that the Iron Bar has an overall upward trend. You have to look at the entire graph, not just the last (right side) tip of the graph to understand where the trend is going.

If you don’t understand graphs that well there are plenty of tutorials and guides available online about how to properly analyze graphs and how to spot trends in the price movement. It’s really interesting stuff so I recommend looking into it! ;)

Buying and Selling on the Grand Exchange

After analyzing the market we have finally chosen which item to flip – for this guide, it’s the Iron Bar used mainly in the Smithing skill to make weapons, armor, arrow tips and nails.

The first thing we do is called a test buy. We simply buy one of the Iron Bars and put in a higher price than the average market price to make sure our item buys instantly. This is how we know exactly what the current price of our item is.

Test buy iron bar in the grand exchange for later flipping

As you can see on the picture to the left we entered 567 gp as the price we wanted to buy, but the item actually bought for 566 gp giving us back the change of 1 gp.

We now know that 566 gp is the actual price that Iron Bars are going for in the Grand Exchange at this moment.

Remember the price graph? The trend is clearly upwards so we are pretty confident that we can sell the Iron Bar back to the market for a higher price than 566 gp.

Picking the right price for selling

After raising the iron bar price in the grand exchange for 5 percent

The trick is to put the item up for sale and increase its price by five percent. To do that simply click on the +5% button and Grand Exchange will automatically adjust your selling price.

But that’s not the price we want to sell because a lot of other people are probably doing the same.

We need to target the “Desperate buyer” who rushes to GE and makes a buy order immediately with +5% without worrying much about market prices. These type of players just want to receive the item as fast as possible so they can go skilling and advance their levels.

In order to sell to these players the price must be adjusted in a way that it’s still above the overall market price, but below the +5% price. When we adjust our selling price in this way, we make sure the desperate buyer will buy from us first. Makes sense?

Iron Bar sold for 577 gp in the grand exchange of Runescape

Instead of trying to sell for 595 gp (the +5%) we are lowering the price to 577 gp aiming for a quick 11 gp profit per Iron Bar.

As you can see just a few moments later someone had bought our Iron Bar for 577 gp! I am sure if we waited long enough, we could sell it for 595+ as well, because the general price for Iron Bar is currently climbing. For now let’s settle with just 11 gp profit per Iron Bar.

Now we just have to repeat this process and buy 5000 Iron Bars giving us a good 55,000 profit flipping the Iron Bar.

Valuable items = More profits!

The Iron Bar in our example isn’t a valuable item and because of this the profits are smaller too. If you want to make more money flipping items on the Grand Exchange you just have to buy and sell things that cost more. The price difference is bigger there and so are your profits.

NB! I advise you to invest only 10-20% of your entire capital into flipping. This way you can safely trade without losing your entire cash pile should the trend change and prices fall.

Why you shouldn’t underestimate the Farming skill in Runescape

Farming skill in Runescape

The skill “Farming” requires a pay-to-play account and it’s an amazing skill that lets you plant herbs, bushes, trees and flowers that can be harvested and most of the harvested items can then later be used in various other skills. For example the Herblore skill uses herbs that are grown with the Farming skill and these are used to make potions that boost your stats or give you other advantages in the game.

Don’t underestimate the Farming skill

You hear it a lot from other players that the skill is tedious and time consuming and really not worth the trouble. The experience seems to come slowly and you can only plant a tree once every day per patch, because it takes 12 hours or so to fully grow and be ready for harvest (that’s when the experience will come).

Placing supercompost on a herb patch

The small stuff like applying supercompost or planting a seed give very small amounts of experience indeed, but the main XP will come AFTER you have planted and grown a plant to its full size. It’s especially true with trees like the Magic Tree that gives a whooping 13,768+ XP after you check it for health (that’s without any experience boosts).

If you are just starting out, I advise you to complete the quest Fairy Tale I – Growing Pains. After finishing this quest your farming level is raised instantly from 1 to 17. For more farming experience simply keep growing the best that you can afford. Remember, trees give the most experience.

Serious farming and money making

After you get 85 farming things will really start to get profitable because you can now grow Torstol, the herb that is used to make Zamorak Brews- a wildly sought after potion that raises Attack and Strength levels temporarily.

You can get Torstol seed from the Grand Exchange for a measly 17,000+ coins. The yield is around 8-10 herbs per seed and they sell for over 5,000+ coins each, making your pure profit anywhere between 23,000 to 33,000 per seed!

Below are the results of my latest herb run:

4 seeds = 70,844 coins

37 herbs = 200,799 coins

Making the total profit from this run 129,955 coins.

Remember, you can do this 4 times per hour! (because seeds take around 15 minutes or so to grow).

That’s 519,820+ coins per hour!

This is just the result of an average herb run, I’ve picked 51 herbs too which add up to 848,824+ coins per hour!

Grand Exchange Bought 4 Torstol SeedsGrand Exchange Grimy Torstol Sold for 200k

As of October 2014 Farming is probably the most profitable skill right now.

Pendrive with very fast transfer speed and still affordable (ReadyBoost compatible)

The Verbatim Store’n’ GO Memory Drive

I just love small and compact technology and about a year ago I was in need of a new and fast flash drive for personal use. After a few hours of searching online I found that this fairly new Verbatim 32GB flash drive is exactly that. It’s incredibly small in size! Just look at the picture I took when I compared it to a cigarette:

Pendrive with fast transfer speed size compared next to a cigarette
Verbatim 32gb flash memory stick with fast transfer speed. Size is compared to a cigarette.

It might not look like much but this little baby holds 32gb of data, has USB 3.0 support and the average transfer speeds are as follows:

Write speed of about 10,5 MB/s

Read speed of about 21,5 MB/s

This makes it one of the best flash drives available for an affordable price of just around $40 to $45 bucks.

ReadyBoost Compatible Pendrive

Because of it’s high transfer speeds Windows 7 users can make use of it by applying ReadyBoost which will allow you to use a part of the flash drive as RAM assuming of course you have the USB 3.0 port on your computer/laptop (It looks just like a regular USB port but it has a distinct blue color, you can’t miss it).

Best Pendrive for live systems

For the geeks working with live systems and virtual machines, the Verbatim Tuff ‘N’ Tiny flash drive is a great solution. It’s small and fast- your live system is guaranteed to run smoothly on it. Not only that, but it has been built in such a robust way that even if a car were to drive over it, it would still be operational. It’s that awesome!

Storing personal photos, videos and other media

Whether you are a photographer looking for a way of storing your photos in a reliable way or an office worker who needs to keep files from work safely in their pocket, the 32GB Verbatim Tuff ‘N’ Tiny flash drive is more than enough.

Get yours from here!
