Vice City Multiplayer: The Glitch Hunters from Ankeborg’s Playground

GTA Vice City Multiplayer or VC-MP for short is well known for its numerous bugs and glitches. Oftentimes all you have to do in order to glitch into a wall, for example, is to jump towards it at a right angle and let the game’s crappy physics take care of the rest. With a couple of tries you should find yourself stuck inside a wall of a building in no time!

Back when me and Comendante were regulars in the Ankeborg RPG server, we started a group called The Glitch Hunters. The goal of the group was simple: seek out and document all the glitches and bugs in Vice City.

We would upload gaming screenshots and post them in the forum with a brief description that explained how to replicate the glitch.

It didn’t take long for the group to gain popularity and soon enough most of the regulars like Sprinter, Falcon, Tuntis, Bandit, Feron, etc. were all glitching into things and posting their screenshots on the message board. Man, those were the times.

Too many glitches!

After we discovered the first couple of glitches we were naturally excited and wanted to share them with everyone else. However we soon realized that pretty much every building, tree and dumpster could potentially be glitched into.

This grim discovery was one of the reasons why we eventually decided to just stop. I mean come on, the whole game was one big glitch!

Noticeable Vice City Multiplayer glitches

While most glitches in Vice City Multiplayer just make you disappear into the wall from the other guy’s perspective, there are some that actually look kinda cool. Here’s an example where I successfully glitched into a booth in Escobar International airport:

Here’s what it looks like from the inside:

As you can see it’s pretty boring on the inside. But most of the glitches in Vice City are like that. They just look so much better from the outside.

However more often than not, when you glitch into something, you will be able to see through the walls. Take a look at this glitch found Downtown in the Roxor building:

I don’t have a screenshot from the outside view, but the other guy can only see your username somewhere inside the walls. They can’t see you at all!

Starfish Island Balcony glitch

This one is one of my personal favorites. It’s located in the middle of Starfish Island, inside a small house with a lot of trees and bushes in the backyard. In single player mode you can find a yellow Stinger near the garage.

The glitch is my favorite because it looks awesome and provides excellent cover from deranged criminals. You’re essentially inside the wall so nobody can shoot you. The bullets just bounce right back. I also love it because I happened to own the house in the RPG server.

Getting there

If you want to glitch onto the balcony you have to first glitch inside the room below.

  • On the ground floor jump on the railing. Try to position yourself facing towards Little Havana while your head is inside the ceiling.
  • When you jump from here you should end up within the walls of the building.
  • The next step takes a little more practice, but your goal is to do a running jump and get through the transparent wall onto the balcony.
  • Beware of stepping onto the transparent ground as you will fall through the game and be teleported in the middle of the street just outside the yard.

Useful teleportation glitch

While most of the glitches found in Vice City Multiplayer are pretty much useless because you can’t get out of them afterwards, there are some which can be rather useful.

For instance, how would you like to be instantly teleported from Prawn Island to the police station in Little Havana?

How to Teleport from Prawn Island to Little Havana

Prawn Island - Inside The Wall - Vice City Multiplayer

  • While riding any type of bike go into the wall from the side as shown on the above screenshot.
  • Continue riding deeper into the wall on your bike until about 5 bike lengths.
  • Press enter to get off the bike.
  • The loading screen should appear and next thing you know, you’re in Little Havana!

I’m still not sure why this glitch teleports you so far away, but nevertheless it works every single time. Most of the time these types of glitches only teleport you to the closest solid ground.

This glitch can become in handy next time you’re running from the police. Oh and It also works in single player mode!
