Sometimes smaller can be better. This becomes obviously apparent when you look at this smallest available USB flash drive. Sure, a micro SD card can still beat it when compared in physical size, but if you are after a tiny USB pendrive, this is as small as it gets! Mini USB flash drive It’s almost the same size as its male USB connector, but it still manages to store up to 8GB of data. 8GB might not seem like much given the fact that we have a 1TB USB flash drive readily available, but it costs over $700 so thanks,... If you’re an old school gamer like me, you’ve no doubt played on the classic Super Nintendo console when you were younger. Fast forward a decade and we find ourselves in a situation where the console is so old and obsolete that we can’t even use it without buying a converter cable for the TV. Not only that, but all the SNES games are now freely available for anyone to download and play using an emulator. No matter how you play your favorite old school games, it’s just not the same when you’re using a generic boring PC controller, is... View Article

I took this with my Samsung Galaxy S2 which has a pretty decent 8MP camera for a smartphone. Added some finishing touches using a freeware photo editor software called PhotoFiltre and the result is a wonderful, slightly dark asphalt background image. You can use it wherever and however you see fit! I would appreciate if you linked back to my site though, but it’s not required. Click on the image to enlarge

You might have already spotted a Windows 10 review or two show up on the web. That means the first batch or “wave” in the Windows 10 download queue has started and people are now receiving notifications from Microsoft when their Windows 10 download is ready to be installed. Depending on your location and possibly other factors, you might have to wait a week or more to be able to upgrade, but there is a simple solution to skip the download queue altogether and upgrade your Windows right now. Have you ever wondered how some websites display a closable div or a full screen overlay on top of their main content to say something really important to the viewer? I had to do something similar for my old portfolio that is no longer updated, to direct readers to my new and better looking portfolio instead. Here’s how I did it. HTML popup window is dead I just had to say this before I continue. Do not use HTML/Javascript pop up windows- most browsers block these by default and if you mange to bypass the popup blockers, you’re just going... View Article

My friends often talk about how to become self sufficient and live off the grid, completely independent from the outside world. In many of those discussions I find myself being the only one bringing up the solar power issue, as everyone else seems to talk about growing your own food or building a self sustained water supply. Their ideas are all great and useful, but living like this is simply unacceptable in the modern world where we need electricity. And if you are buying electricity from a power company, then you aren’t a 100% self sufficient now, are you? Self... View Article

Every web development agency is known for either being secretive about their web design prices, or throwing around huge and unrealistic numbers, when in reality the most common modern website design cost can easily fit within the $200-$400 range. How much does it cost to build a website Not much! For clarity, let’s only talk about building a simple business-card type website with no custom built CMS (Content Management System) in this article. These types of websites are ideal for small businesses who operate mainly offline. For example restaurants who publish their best meals and prices on their website or... View Article

Jetpack comes with a great feature called Infinite Scroll that adds Facebook style scrolling of content to your website, meaning that more posts are loaded as the reader scrolls down the page. The only thing that sucks about the Infinite Scroll is the footer style. By default you’ll get a semi-transparent white box under your website that says: “Proudly powered by WordPress” along with the theme name you are currently using. Here’s how to remove the default footer and replace it with a subtle arrow icon that’s pointing upwards. Warning! You will be editing the Jetpack system files directly which... View Article

Finding a web designer who knows what they’re doing, yet can keep your web design costs low, is like finding a needle in a haystack. The trick to finding a low cost web design for your business is to avoid the big guys. Most top web designers work alone It’s common for a web designer who is just getting started to get a contract from some semi-professional... View Article
